KARACHI: Lawyer of Mir Hussain, representing the family of young businessman Mir Raza, has approached the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court through a letter, stating that the victim’s parents do not want a judicial inquiry into the case.
According to the letter, the family believes the Sindh government is seeking to avoid the main investigation under the pretext of a judicial inquiry.
The letter alleges that the provincial government is attempting to “hide behind” a judicial commission and make the case controversial through an inquiry under its auspices.
The lawyer said the family had confidence in the judiciary but maintained that the investigation should proceed in accordance with the law.
According to the letter, the authority to investigate a criminal case rests with the police under the law, and the family therefore does not want the proposed judicial inquiry.
The lawyer said the family would approach the court in future if the need arose in connection with the matter.
