KARACHI: All Pakistan Marriage Halls Association has announced to close all wedding halls in Karachi after Eid-ul-Azha.
The association has threatened to hold a post-Eid protest against the demolition of marriage halls in the city. Rana Rais, President of the Marriage Hall Association, said that marriage halls will be closed after Eid if the demolition of marriage halls is not prevented.
He said that in the first phase, they will boycott the wedding ceremonies in Karachi, after which the wedding halls will be closed in the whole of Sindh, if the higher authorities do not reconsider, the scope of the protest will be widened.

President of All Pakistan Marriage Halls Association Rana Rais said in his statement that SBCA and the administration are also demolishing legal marriage halls in the city. There is anger among the marriage hall owners against the action.
He further said that the marriage hall demolition team suddenly arrives in the darkness of the night, the marriage hall is demolished without notification and legal permission, and there is a fear of loss of life the labor because of the operation in the darkness of the night. The labor is resting there, if the life of any labor is harmed, the administration will be responsible, he demanded from President Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to take notice of the situation.
