A case has been registered in Chakwal over derogatory social media posts against the Pakistan Army and intelligence agencies.
According to police, the accused, Yousaf Sheikh, was arrested by City Police Station under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
The FIR states that the individual attempted to incite the public against the military and intelligence institutions.
Earlier, a case was registered at Waris Khan Police Station in Rawalpindi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
According to police officials, the case was filed for posting baseless information against state institutions on social media. The suspect was arrested for sharing inappropriate content online.
The arrested individual has been shifted to Adiala Jail.
Police further stated that misuse of freedom of expression to violate the law and spread negative propaganda will not be tolerated
