In a shocking incident near Karachi’s Nipa Chowrangi area, a male teacher allegedly assaulted his female student by throwing acid at her following a heated argument, as reported by a private TV channel on Sunday, quoting the police.
The distressing event unfolded inside an IT center located near Nipa Chowrangi, leading to the prompt arrest of the accused teacher, identified as Iftikhar, by law enforcement. The victim, named Alisha, and her two uncles, Noman and Faizan, suffered burn injuries in the attack and were immediately transferred to the burns ward at Civil Hospital, as confirmed by the police.
Law enforcement authorities disclosed that a formal case has been filed at Aziz Bhatti Police Station based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s maternal uncle, Noman.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Noman stated, “My niece had gone to take her IT certificate, and Iftikhar and Arshad misbehaved with her in the center.”
The FIR further detailed that the victim, upon returning home, reported the incident to her uncles, Noman and Faizan, prompting them to accompany her back to the coaching center. Noman explained, “Iftikhar and Waqar became agitated at the coaching center, and the former retrieved acid from his pocket, throwing it at us.” The teacher, Iftikhar, was subsequently apprehended by the police in connection with the horrifying assault.
