KARACHI: Actress Mahira Khan, who has recently won the award for best actress at this year’s LUX Style Awards, has turned 36 years old today.
Mahira Khan is a household name in Pakistan since she made her debut in 2011. The actress made her name prominent in Bollywood too. She debuted with actor Shahrukh Khan in the movie “Raees”. She is adored and lauded for playing a variety of roles and characters. Khan first started out as a VJ and rose to prominence by playing the lead role in the drama serial ‘Humsafar’.
Earlier, Khan also tested positive for the novel coronavirus as the actress took to Instagram to announce that she isolated at home after contracting coronavirus. “I have tested positive for Covid-19. I’m isolating and have informed all those who were in close contact with me over the last few days”.

She sought prayers and movie recommendations and also urged everyone to wear mask and follow coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). “It’s been rough but it will be ok soon, InshaAllah. Please please wear a mask and follow all other sops- for your sake and others,” she wrote.

Khan was born in Karachi, she moved to California at the age of 17 for higher education, where she attended Santa Monica College. She then enrolled in the University of Southern California for her bachelor’s degree. However, she did not complete her undergraduate degree and returned to Pakistan in 2008.
