KASHMIR: Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has joined Kotli Lions for the upcoming second edition of the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) as their icon player.
According to details, the veteran wicketkeeper-batter will also lead the franchise in the tournament’s second edition, which will kick off in August.
Sarfaraz Ahmed was featured in a video posted on KPL’s official social media accounts. The 2017 ICC Champions League winning captain thanked the franchise owner Khalid Zia for bringing him on board.

“I will be representing Kotli Lions in this year’s KPL. I want to thank franchise owners Khalid Zia and Faisal for selecting me as their icon player,” he said.
He remained hopeful and claimed to make the Kotli Lion’s a strong side for this year’s competition. “We will try to make a strong team for this year and win the tournament. I am ready for live KPL action, are you?” he concluded.
The inaugural season was won by Rawalakot Hawks which Shahid Afridi led whereas the other team in the final was being captained by another Pakistani veteran all-arounder Mohammad Hafeez.
