Pakistan is also one of the biggest producers of mangoes. These are exported to countries across the world. This season a target of 1.5 million tonnes has been set for export.
You can now spot Pakistani mangoes in supermarkets across United States, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Muscat, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, France, Germany, Norway, Netherlands, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
Pakistan also sends special gifts of mangoes to friendly countries. Mango diplomacy is a trend among lawmakers even from opposing aisles, while we also send mangoes to our loved ones. It is used to make mango shakes, ice cream, juices, pickles, chutneys, or you can gulp down the delicious fruit.
There are dozens of varieties of mangoes popular in Pakistan, known for their distinct taste and colour. Notable among them are Sindhri, Chaunsa, Langra, Almas, Fajri, Gola, Dusehri, Saroli, Anwar Ratool.
