Famous writer and director Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has announced to write a script like Turkish drama “Ertugrul Ghazi’ that has received overwhelming popularity in Pakistan.
During an interview to a private news channel, the writer said that he has talked to actor Humayun Saeed is going to write a script like ‘Ertugrul’.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar said there is a need to introduce such kind of topics in society to increase awareness about the history of Islam. “We are stuck in typical saas-bahu topics, so we do not pay attention to topics like Ertugrul Ghazi,” he went on to say.
He also pointed out the reason for the success of Turkish productions is that they have kept their national language intact and are proud of their heritage. He said Pakistan has limited resources but has renowned directors and the finest actors.

Responding to a question about working on something like Ertugrul, he asserted, “Of course, we are definitely thinking to make something like this. Three days ago, I have spoken to Humayun Saeed about this and we have decided to make something.”
The ‘Meray Pass Tum Ho’ director went on to add, “I have been asking him to work on something like this for the last twelve years but the problem is we have limitations. We do not have enough facilities, otherwise, we have brilliant actors.”
When the host praised Qamar considering working on such a script on the Turkish epic, the writer quickly interrupted and said, “I am not just thinking about it, I am going to start penning the script from tomorrow.”
Ertugrul has shattered popularity records in Pakistan. The serial is already a huge success on state-owned PTV with the broadcast of its first episode and is also the top trend on social media.
