Extended power outages across various areas of Karachi have made daily life extremely difficult for residents. In several localities, electricity cuts lasting between 18 and 20 hours have severely disrupted normal living conditions.
According to reports, residents of Karachi were already facing significant challenges due to the intense heatwave.
The ongoing load shedding has further aggravated their difficulties, with both scheduled and unscheduled power outages becoming increasingly prolonged.
Media reports indicate that residents in Lyari, Surjani Town, New Karachi, Korangi and Baldia have been subjected to power cuts lasting between 18 and 20 hours a day. Similarly, electricity outages of 14 to 16 hours have been reported in North Karachi, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad and Liaquatabad.
Reports further suggest that areas including Federal B Area, Kharadar, M.A. Jinnah Road and Saddar have also experienced up to 12 hours of load shedding.
The issue is not limited to Karachi, as residents in several other cities across the country are also facing prolonged electricity disruptions.
In Quetta, central areas have reportedly experienced around four hours of unscheduled load shedding in addition to seven to eight hours of scheduled power outages, further increasing public hardship.
The ongoing electricity shortages have created difficulties for both the business community and domestic consumers, leading to growing demands for a reduction in load shedding.
