KARACHI: President of the Karachi Electronics Market Association Rizwan Irfan has announced that electronics markets across the city will remain closed on Thursday in protest against the arrest of shopkeepers from Rambo Centre.
Rizwan Irfan said the traders would stage a protest against what he described as the alleged unlawful arrest of shopkeepers at Rambo Centre, adding that electronics markets would remain completely closed on Thursday as part of the protest.
He claimed that a false First Information Report (FIR) had been registered over a dispute concerning the closure of an access route to the first floor of Rambo Centre, resulting in the arrest of five shopkeepers.
The president of the Karachi Electronics Market Association said that if the cases were not withdrawn by Thursday, electronics markets across the city would remain closed in protest.
He further said that Rambo Centre had remained closed since Wednesday.
