KARACHI: K-Electric has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown for Friday, August 21, 2026, with power supply interruptions expected across 29 feeders at different times during the day.

According to the maintenance schedule, the shutdowns will affect several residential, commercial and industrial areas. The duration of the interruption will vary from feeder to feeder, with some areas expected to face outages for several hours.

The Haji Ismail Road PMT-4 feeder has the longest scheduled shutdown, from 7:59am to 8:59pm, while the Qabristan RMU is scheduled for maintenance from 9:00am to 6:30pm. The S. Highway Pumping feeder will remain affected from 8:59am to 5:29pm.

Several feeders have been scheduled for interruption between approximately 8:59am and 5:59pm, including Hussain Developers, Jamia Sibtain, KDA Center View, Malir Poultry Farm, Mercury Garment, Namak Bank, NAT. Fiber I, Nisar Shaheed Park, Sea View-1, State Bank and Zia-ul-Haq Colony.

Other feeders, including AL-MURTAZA, Behar Colony, Fish Mill Substation (Paramount), KDA Water Pump, Landhi-A, MG Industries RMU, Mulla Essa Goth RMU, Pak Scientific Society, Shaez Residency, Sunny View, Tanga Stand RMU and Tulip Tower, are scheduled for maintenance from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

The schedule also shows shorter maintenance windows for a number of feeders. Gol Market (Old Nazimabad-3), Mountain Valley: Saima Arabian Villas-3, and Saima Arabian Villas-1 are scheduled to remain affected from 9:59am to 4:59pm, while Hussain Developers, Jamia Sibtain and KDA Center View are listed for outages from 8:59am to 5:59pm.

Residents and businesses in the affected areas have been advised to take the scheduled shutdown timings into account and make necessary arrangements for essential electrical needs. People relying on electric water pumps, lifts, medical equipment, communication systems and other electrically powered facilities may need to plan accordingly.

The maintenance activity is part of the utility’s scheduled work on its electricity distribution network. Since shutdown timings differ by feeder, consumers are advised to check the feeder serving their particular area rather than assuming that the entire locality will experience an outage for the same duration.
