Karachi: K-Electric (KE) has announced a planned maintenance shutdown across several feeders in Karachi on Thursday, 23 July, as part of its routine maintenance programme aimed at improving the reliability and stability of the city’s power distribution network.
According to the utility, electricity supply will remain suspended in the affected areas for varying durations, with most outages scheduled between 8:00am and 6:00pm, while a few feeders will experience different shutdown timings depending on the scope of maintenance work.
The affected feeders include Abad Builders, Ali Doulat, Al-Mehmil, Al-Murtaza, Ayubbia Commercial Phase-7 Extension, Bose, BRR Modarba, Capital Housing Society 01, Crown Garden, Dawood Cotton, DHA Golf Club, Embassi Villa, Glass Tower, Grain Godown, Green Land City, Grey Heights, Gulbahar, Hafiz Sweets, IBM, Imperial Rubber, Jameel Masjid RMU (Old Rehmania Masjid), Kala School, Kashmir Colony RMU, KDA Employee Society, Khawja Autos, KH-E-Baber Kiosk-11, KH-E-Jami RMU, Khokhrapar RMU, Knowledge School, Korangi Telephone Exchange-02, Landhi-B, Mega Bird, Moinabad, Murtaza Commercial SS-1, Nazimabad College, Noor Housing, Northern Bypass, Old Golimar, Pasban Masjid, PNR Colony, Quetta Town RMU, Super Highway Pumping, Salman Garden, Sea View-1, Shah Faisal Town, Small Industries, SUPARCO, Talha Cottages and Toheed Colony.

KE has advised customers residing in these localities to plan their daily activities accordingly, as electricity supply will remain unavailable during the scheduled maintenance period.
The utility said the temporary shutdowns are necessary to facilitate essential repair and maintenance work designed to enhance network performance and minimise the likelihood of unplanned outages in the future.
Residents have also been urged to observe safety precautions around electrical installations while maintenance work is under way. Power supply is expected to be restored promptly upon the completion of the scheduled works, subject to operational conditions.
