JPMC director Seemi Jamali discloses her battle with cancer

KARACHI: Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) exextuive director Dr Seemi Jamali has been diagnosed with colon cancer and has started treatment.
In an interview with a private media channel, Ms Jamali disclosed that she has started chemotherapy as treatment for the disease.
She said she has undergone two sessions for chemotherapy while twelve sessions are required. The treatment is being done at a private hospital under the supervision of Dr Inam.
She said she has resumed her responsibilities at the hospital while her treatment is ongoing. She said she has served the people her entire life and appealed to pray for her recovery.
Earlier, Dr Seemi Jamali’s husband has tested positive for coronavirus. Renowned surgeon Dr A.R. Jamali was also serving at the JPMC when he tested positive for coronavirus.
He was shifted to a quarantine facility of a private hospital in the city. Dr Seemi Jamali had also confirmed the reports that her husband has contracted the virus.
