HYDERABAD: Jamshoro police have revealed the arrest of four notorious criminals who were nabbed during a police encounter several days ago.
According to details, police disclosed the arrest after demanding a hefty bribe from the suspect’s family and close aides to release them which was not accepted. As a result, police have made their arrest public and a case has been filed against them.
Police said that arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession and a case has been registered. However, sources revealed the initial case was lodged after a deal to release them was not reached.
The suspects were arrested during an encounter at the Bholari link road by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the police. Police said the four pistols were recovered from their possession, while the suspects were absconding in more than twelve cases.
Five cases have been registered against the suspect at Kotri police station under the Sindh Arms Act. Residents in Hyderabad and Jamshoro have expressed displeasure over the extortion attempt and demanded action against the criminals as well the police officials.
