KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Women Development Syeda Shehla Raza has claimed that former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secretary-general Jahangir Tareen will meet ex-president Asif Ali Zardari in Karachi next week and may join the PPP.
On a social media post, Syeda Shehla Raza said Tareen had met Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood, following which he will meet the former president in the port city.
“I think he will leave PTI and join PPP along with his colleagues during the meeting,” she added. “If such a thing happens, neither will Buzdar remain in government, nor will Niazi,” the PPP leader claimed.

Meanwhile, Jahangir Tareen has denied the claim made by PPP leader Shehla Raza regarding his inclusion in the PPP and termed it propaganda against him.
The PTI leader said that there was no truth in reports regarding his meeting with the PPP leadership and inclusion in the party. “Those running fake news against me will be disappointed,” he said.
Earlier, the FIA has once again summoned Tareen and his son Ali Tareen on April 9, with the father being called in for two cases, while the son for one case.
Tareen’s terms with PTI started to deteriorate in 2021, following Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) report on the sugar crisis.
FIA in the report released last year had claimed that top PTI members were among those who gained from the recent sugar crisis in the country. Among the people named in the FIA report were Jahangir Tareen and a brother of the then minister for national food security Khusro Bakhtiar.
