Authorities in the federal capital have sealed a private hotel located in the jurisdiction of Kohsar Police Station after videos of a dance party held on the premises went viral on social media.
Following the circulation of the videos, social media users expressed strong concern and outrage, prompting police officials to take immediate notice of the incident, local media reported on Monday.
Acting swiftly, district administration and police sealed the hotel completely and launched legal action against those involved.
According to police, a formal First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the hotel owner, Shujaat Afzal, and the event organizer, Faisal Matloob, for holding the party.
Officials said further investigation into the matter is underway, and action will be taken in accordance with the law.
It is worth mentioning that Islamabad authorities regularly crack down on illegal “dance parties” and unapproved late-night events that violate local regulations.
