ISLAMABAD: Security arrangements have been tightened to deal with the long march of former prime minister Imran Khan in the federal capital, for which the anti-terrorism squad has been called.
According to the details, PTI’s long march entered the seventh day today. Preparations of the federal government are also underway to deal with the ongoing long march toward Islamabad. The Federal Police sought approval to deploy armed personnel.
Islamabad Police has requested that QRF be deployed to deal with armed protests in PTI Long March. Permission was also sought from the Interior Ministry for the deployment of armed anti-terrorist squads and senior officers.

Armed counter-terrorism squads are likely to be deployed at close range from March. Islamabad Police appealed that the QRF should be mobilized immediately if the participants of the march opened fire on the force.
Earlier, the federal government had said that not more than one and a half thousand people were in Imran Khan’s long march, but with the expansion of the red zone in Islamabad and the summoning of the anti-terrorist squad, there is a fear of a serious political crisis in the country.
