ISLAMABAD: The federal police today (Thursday) have arrested a couple involved in stealing 1.5 million rupees and a vehicle from a flour mill in Islamabad.
According to details, the suspects were identified as Mian Rashid Shamshir and Kanwal. The action was taken on a complaint filed by the administration of the flour mill.
A police spokesperson informed that a case has been registered against the arrested accused under Pakistan Penal Code. Several teams have been formed to arrest the accomplices of the accused.
The spokesperson further informed that the couple has confessed to stealing the valuables. The police expect to get more information from them after another round of interrogations
Earlier in August, Lahore police arrested a woman and her husband who stole Rs9 million from her employers. However, only Rs4.3 million was recovered from them. The couple was identified as Farzana and Babar.
They stole the money from a house in Harbanspura. Farzana worked as a maid at the house of Asim Farhan. She and her husband stole the money and fled.
