ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a public advisory urging parents and guardians to obtain a new B-form as soon as their child reaches the age of 10.
According to the advisory, the first B-form issued with a photograph automatically expires on the child’s 10th birthday, and parents are required to update the record to reflect the child’s current identity details. The updated B-form will include a new photograph and biometric information — specifically iris scans and fingerprints — which NADRA says are necessary to ensure accurate identification and to align the child’s record with national database standards.
NADRA says parents may obtain the new B-form by visiting any NADRA office in person with the child present, where officials will capture the required photo and biometric data.
Alternatively, the authority offers a home-service option: parents can request the B-form from home using the PakID mobile app, after which a NADRA team will visit to complete the process. The advisory emphasizes completing the update promptly to avoid lapses in documentation that could affect access to services or future registration processes.
