Iranian rial sees major drop in value

A major decline has been recorded in the value of the Iranian rial, after which the price of one crore rials has become Rs 5,000 in Pakistan.

The Central Bank of Iran has issued new official foreign currency rates, under which the value of the Iranian rial has been recorded further and the rial has become cheaper compared to all major world currencies, including the Pakistani rupee.

The Iranian Central Bank says that on July 29, 2026, the official price of one US dollar increased from 1,421,105 rials to 1,436,205 Iranian rials, while the price of one euro has reached 1,633,131 rials.

On the other hand, the US dollar is trading at 1,517,870 rials and the euro at 1,725,994 rials on the ‘Sana System’ used by authorized money changers.

According to new official data, the price of 100 Pakistani rupees has been set at 517,104 Iranian rials, at the official rate, 1 Pakistani rupee has become equal to approximately 5,171 Iranian rials.

Contrary to official data, the actual price of the dollar in Iran’s open market is running between 1.86 million and 1.89 million rials.

In Pakistan’s open market, 10 million Iranian rials are being sold for 4,500 to 5,000 rupees.
