WhatsApp has introduced a major update for its web version, allowing users to make audio and video calls directly from their browsers.
The new feature includes additional options such as screen sharing and call reactions. A dedicated Calls tab has also been added to the web version, enabling users to access their call history and view favorite contacts more conveniently.
According to WhatsApp, calls made through the web platform will be protected with end-to-end encryption, ensuring that conversations remain private.
The company also confirmed that there will be no time limit on the duration of web calls.
The update further allows users to seamlessly transfer calls between devices. Users will be able to move ongoing calls between WhatsApp on mobile devices, the web version, and the WhatsApp desktop application without interruption.
The new feature is expected to enhance the calling experience for users who rely on WhatsApp Web for communication and productivity.
