TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif heading a high-profile delegation will arrive in Islamabad on Tuesday (tomorrow).
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh announced this in a presser on Monday. Khatibzadeh further said the FM will be heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation.
Zarif will have meetings with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and other Pakistani political and military officials, he added.
Earlier the day, Zarif paid tribute to Pakistan’s national poet Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal on his 143rd birth anniversary.
“Allama Iqbal Fakhr has the status of a scholar of Islam and an international poet and thinker and the concerns he had for the unity of Muslims is a concern for the world of Islam today,” he tweeted.

The 143rd birth anniversary of philosopher-poet Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal is being observed with national fervor to recognize his effort and services for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Subcontinent.
An investiture ceremony of change of guard was held at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal in Lahore on Monday morning. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Navy assumed the responsibility of guard from Pakistan Rangers.
In their separate messages on Iqbal Day, President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have urged on the need to stand united, set aside differences and work commitment for the socio-economic uplift of the country.
