ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected social media claims alleging that the US Navy is using Pakistani territory to conduct operations against Iran with Islamabad’s approval, describing the allegations as fabricated and intended to spread confusion and uncertainty.
In a statement published on its fact-check account, the ministry said the claim originated from a social media account based in North America before being circulated more widely.

◼️ Fabricated propaganda by a North America based account and questingly proliferated further, that the US Navy is somehow operating from Pakistani territory against Iran, with alleged Pakistani approval, is baseless and part of wider agenda of sowing confusion, misperceptions and chaos.
◼️ Such social media posts actually deserve no attention by any serious minded observer and need to be categorised and treated as propaganda only.

According to the ministry, allegations that the US Navy is operating against Iran from Pakistani territory with the alleged approval of the Pakistani government are not based on facts. It warned that such campaigns could create confusion, promote misleading perceptions and fuel unrest.
Reiterating its position, the ministry stated that truth ultimately prevails over falsehood.
Pakistan Temporarily Suspends Trade Along Iran Border
Separately, cross-border trade between Pakistan and Iran in Balochistan has been temporarily suspended due to security concerns. The development was confirmed by Bakhtiar Ismail, the deputy commissioner of Chagai district.
In a post on social media platform X on Saturday, Ismail said trade through the Iran border had been temporarily halted for security reasons.
According to the deputy commissioner, the suspension is intended to strengthen border management and support counterterrorism efforts.
He clarified that the closure is temporary and that the border will reopen once effective security measures are in place.
The suspension has also raised concerns among traders over potential financial losses, as disruptions to cross-border commercial activity could create significant difficulties for businesses operating along the route.
