Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has clarified that the country deliberately limits the range of its missiles to 2,000 kilometres, emphasising that Iran has no disputes with European civilians.
According to the report, speaking in a recent statement, Iran’s FM Araghchi stressed that the restriction is intentional and underscores Iran’s commitment to a defensive military posture.
He explained that Iran’s missile programme is designed strictly for protecting national sovereignty and regional security, not for threatening territories far beyond its borders.
This announcement comes amid ongoing international scrutiny over Iran’s missile development and military capabilities.
By capping the range, Iran aims to project a message that its strategic deterrence is focused on regional defence, rather than targeting global powers or civilian populations.
