ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned an emergency meeting to review measures taken to control inflation.
The meeting will be chaired by the prime minister himself. The meeting will review the inflation situation while the government’s economic team will brief PM Imran Khan on the steps taken to control inflation.
On the other hand, earlier the Ministry of Finance expressed fear that the inflation rate for the new financial year 2020-21 may rise to 9.3 percent from the target of 8.2 percent due to coronavirus pandemic and economic uncertainty.

Moreover, the prime minister has postponed his visit to Karachi today as he decided to visit Peshawar to inaugurate BRT in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province tomorrow.
According to sources, the official documents revealed that the mega Project is consists of a 27.5km main track and 31 stations while the length of the feeder routes is 62km and has 146 stops.
The main track is connected to seven different areas of the city so that the people can travel from their areas in small buses to reach the main route.
Official documents have estimated that the initial estimate for the BRT project was Rs49.43 billion, however, the cost of the revised PC-1 had increased to Rs66.43 billion, which was further increased to Rs70 billion.
