Terrorism has been a persistent problem in Pakistan for several decades, and it appears that the situation is only getting worse. Despite efforts by the government and law enforcement agencies to counter-terrorism, the number of incidents has increased, causing widespread fear and panic among the population.
However, there have been instances where the police have been successful in preventing terror attacks, and several recent examples are KPK police’s efforts in foiling terror attacks at various places including police stations in Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, and elsewhere. This is a commendable achievement that deserves recognition and praise. The police’s bravery and dedication to protecting the citizens of Pakistan should be an inspiration to us all.
Unfortunately, the success of the KPK police has not been enough to prevent the rising death toll due to terrorism. The impact of these attacks has been devastating, leaving families grieving and communities shattered. It is imperative that the government takes the issue of terrorism seriously and takes the necessary steps to prevent future attacks.
Recently, former prime minister Imran Khan has questioned the security forces’ character in comparison to the rise in terrorism. He has also stated that General Bajwa, former Chief of Army Staff, had close ties with Shehbaz Sharif, the current Prime Minister. These statements have sparked a heated debate, with some agreeing with Mr. Khan’s views and others vehemently opposing them.
Regardless of the political debates, it is clear that terrorism is a matter of national security, and the government needs to take some serious action to tackle the problem. Besides, the menace needs to be tackled on a priority basis. It is important to remember that terrorism not only affects the people of Pakistan but also the country’s reputation and stability. The government should take a comprehensive approach that involves both law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies to identify and dismantle the root causes of terrorism.
In conclusion, the government must prioritize national security and work towards a solution that will ensure the safety and security of the citizens of Pakistan.
