On the occasion of the second anniversary of the Taliban government, Afghanistan celebrated Victory Day on August 15th. This event saw the participation of Taliban commanders, officials, leaders from various communities, and a significant number of people.
On the second anniversary of the fall of Kabul, which the Taliban officially refer to as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Afghan government, the entirety of which the Taliban officially address as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, declared a nationwide holiday. As part of these celebrations, visual coverage of Victory Day events across Afghanistan is being presented.
The central ceremony took place at the Ministry of Defense headquarters in Kabul, where Afghan Defense Minister Mullah Yaquob Mujahid also participated.
A large number of people took part in celebrations of Victory Day through bike rallies on the streets of Kabul.
A ceremony was held at Kandahar University as well, where important Taliban leaders, students, and professors participated in the Victory Day celebrations.
In the Helmand province, an important center of resistance against British forces within the NATO coalition, a public event for Victory Day was organized.
In the predominantly Shiite province of Bamiyan, Victory Day celebrations were also held, attended by Shiite religious leaders.
In the Ghur province in the north, special units of the Afghan army showcased their military capabilities during the Victory Day celebrations.
In addition to this, public and official events were held in all provinces and major cities of Afghanistan, including Kapisa, Faryab, Mazar-i-Sharif, Parwan, and Badakhshan. These events showcased the national and patriotic enthusiasm of the people on the second anniversary of the successful resistance against foreign forces.
