ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has called for constituting a full court bench to proceed case against Chairman PTI Imran Khan for levelling allegations against state institutions.
Talking to a private TV channel, Rana Sanaullah alleged “Imran Khan is attacking the national institutions to regain power via an unconstitutional manner.” He further alleged that the PTI chief was working for “vested interest” in Pakistan, adding that Imran Khan could not succeed in fulfilling his “sinister design.”
He urged upon the “higher authorities” to arrest the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan for the “stability of Pakistan”. He being federal interior minister however, did not elaborate as to what did he mean by “higher authorities”.
Rana Sanaullah said the prime minister would write a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial for taking notice of the PTI Chief’s recent statement, adding that a full-court bench should be formed to proceed the case.
When asked to comment about the firing incident on PTI’s Long March in which one person was killed and 13 others including PTI Chief were injured, Rana Sanaullah said the PTI leader had given “unnecessary and controversial statements” in the past, and those statements had promoted an “environment of extremism”.
