Imran sacks police officers handling Kasur case

ISLAMABAD: The reports of rape and murder of three minors in the Kasur resulted in the suspension of the senior Police Officers of the district.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that strict action would be taken against police officials who are responsible for the negligence in Kasur incident.

“On the Kasur incident: There will be accountability for all. Those who do not perform in the interest of the common man will be taken to task. Following actions have so far been taken by the Punjab police and the provincial government,” Imran Khan tweeted on Wednesday after the report of murder after alleged rape made the headlines

He informed the nation, “District Police Officer (DPO) Kasur is being removed, Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Kasur has surrendered, charge-sheeted and being proceeded against”. He said that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Station House Officer (SHO) who is in charge of the concerned police station has also been suspended.

The trade Unions of the city and the local bar council had called for a strike after the decayed bodies of the three children who were missing for weeks, were discovered by authorities.
