KARACHI: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced holding a public rally in Peshawar on Wednesday after Isha.
In a message on Twitter, PTI Chairman wrote: “On Wednesday I will be holding a jalsa in Peshawar after Isha – my first jalsa after being removed through a foreign-instigated regime change.”
He went on to say ‘’I want all our people to come, as Pakistan was created as an independent, sovereign state, not as a puppet state of foreign powers”.
The ousted PM further said that they are demanding immediate elections in the country as that is the only way forward.m“Let the people decide through fair and free elections, whom they want as their prime minister,” he concluded.
On Sunday, Imran Khan ceased his office as Prime Minister after a no-trust motion against him was passed in the lower house of the Parliament. The motion was tabled by the joint opposition.
Imran Khan and his party are alleging that there was a foreign conspiracy behind the no-trust motion against their government. On Monday, the National Assembly selected Shehbaz Sharif as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan.
