RAWALPINDI: Illegal constructions are reportedly going on with the connivance of the building control inspector despite the reforms of the control cell of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board in the city.
According to details, area inspectors of the building control cell were involved in carrying out illegal domestic and commercial constructions. The inspector posted in the ward no. 1 of the concerned cell took the bribe and allowed illegal construction on the Shah Piara Road.
The inspector assisted in the illegal construction of a basement under commercial construction. A citizen named Farooq Shah got the plan of construction of a one-storey house approved by the Cantonment Board and later conspired to build commercial shops with great skill in domestic construction.
Farooq Shah has opened a store called the ‘Auction House’ for which he warmed the pocket of the area inspector and also completed the construction of the basement. A second roof was also laid for the commercial building two days ago.
According to sources, a tout was settled between the landlord and the area inspector. Tout Farooq Khalid, who settled the matter, was given a share from the bribe money. In this regard, when the area inspector Nazakat was contacted, he denied the allegation and said that the plan of the building has been approved by the Cantonment Board, it is illegal to make money.
