Illegal construction continues near new DG SBCA’s house

KARACHI: Illegal construction continued near the house of the new Director-General of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), Ashkar Dawar, it has been revealed.
According to details, the officials of the building authority have allowed illegal constructions in several areas of the metropolis by receiving an enormous amount of bribe.
Sources revealed that the building authority failed to stop the construction of multi-storey buildings in Gulberg Town (Federal B Area). New DG SBCA Ashkar Dawar is also the resident of the Federal B Area.
The officers, directors, deputy directors, and assistant directors of the Gulberg area have given a huge exemption to the construction mafia after receiving a huge amount of bribe. Sources have revealed that the SBCA officials had received Rs 5 lakh from the property mafia in this regard.
The residents of the area have filed several applications against the illegal constructions on Plots No. 1/14 and 520/14 in the Naseerabad area of Gulberg Town. Sources have informed that the map of the under-construction building has not been approved yet.
Sources also revealed that extra floor is being constructed on Plot No. 883 Block 16 and Plot No. 1863 Block 14 in Gulberg Town against building authority rules.
The residents have appealed to Secretary Local Government Roshan Sheikh and Director General Ashkar Dawar to take immediate notice in this regard or else they will stage a protest after 14th August.
