KARACHI: Pakistani actor Humayun Ashraf has spoken candidly about his unmarried life, saying freedom is the biggest advantage of being single, while also sharing the qualities he dislikes in a potential partner.
Speaking during a recent YouTube show, the actor answered questions about his personal life and explained why he continues to enjoy being single.
Ashraf said that unmarried people have the freedom to live life on their own terms without having to answer to anyone about their daily routine.
“The biggest benefit of being single is freedom. You can sleep, wake up, travel and make decisions whenever you want. A single person is only responsible for himself and does not have to deal with household issues or daily family responsibilities,” he said.
The actor also spoke about the personality traits he finds unattractive in women.
He said rude and disrespectful behaviour is something he dislikes the most, adding that some people mistake loud or harsh behaviour for confidence or humour.
“For me, good manners and upbringing are more important than physical beauty,” Ashraf said.
He also criticised people who refuse to admit their mistakes and instead try to justify them or wait for others to make mistakes so they can taunt them later.
“If someone makes a mistake, they should simply acknowledge it,” he said.
Ashraf clarified that he was sharing his personal experiences and observations, stressing that his comments should not be taken as a generalisation about all women.
He added that men can also have similar habits, and he was only expressing his personal views based on his own experiences.
