In a bid to alleviate transportation expenses for students and promote sustainable commuting, the Punjab government, under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has initiated a plan to provide electric and petrol motorbikes on interest-free installments. This groundbreaking initiative aims to support students across the province and facilitate their access to education.
As part of this program, the Punjab government has announced the distribution of 20,000 electric motorcycles, alongside 19,000 petrol bikes, to students. A significant portion of these bikes is allocated specifically for male and female students, with 700 electric bikes designated for male students and 300 for female students, among others.
To be eligible for this motorcycle scheme, students must be enrolled in a Degree College or University recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and hold a valid motorcycle Learner’s Permit or Driving Licence. The scheme will initially roll out in Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
With over 800,000 students expected to benefit from this initiative, eligible students can register online through the provided link.
Upon registration, applicants are required to provide necessary details such as full name, email address, CNIC, and gender, followed by the creation of a password to initiate the application process.
Students can then proceed to apply for the motorcycle scheme by logging in through the provided link (https://bikes.punjab.gov.pk/login) and selecting their preference between petrol and electric motorcycles. In the event of applications surpassing allocated quotas, e-balloting will be conducted to ensure fairness in distribution.
