The Punjab government has introduced the Nigehban Ramadan Package, aiming to provide assistance during the holy month of Ramadan. This program seeks to aid every household by furnishing Punjab Ehsaas Rashan Riayat and offering subsidies at utility stores, free of charge.
Registration for the Nigehban Ramadan Package is currently available online. Families already enrolled in the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) with a Poverty Means Test (PMT) score below 32 will automatically qualify for this support.
For new applicants, an online portal has been established under the Nigehban Free Ita Scheme. To apply, individuals need to visit the official website and fill out the registration form accurately, including details such as name, contact number, national identity card number, and other necessary information.
Applicants will undergo verification and eligibility assessments based on criteria outlined in the Caretaker Relief Package. Those who meet the following conditions will be deemed eligible:
- – Poverty score below 30 percent
- – Income below 60 thousand rupees
- – No history of international travel or passport issuance
- – No vehicle registered under the applicant’s name
Upon verification and approval, eligible applicants will receive a complimentary Ehsaas Rashan Riayat and three 10 kg bags of flour from utility stores.
Several conditions disqualify individuals from applying for the Nigehban Ramadan Package, including:
- – Income exceeding 60 thousand rupees
- – Ownership of a vehicle registered under the applicant’s name
- – Poverty score surpassing 30 percent
- – Ownership of registered land
- – Participation in Hajj or Umrah
