Makkah recorded the highest rainfall in Saudi Arabia on Friday, with the Sarar area in Taif receiving 64mm, according to the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture.
The ministry reported that 129 monitoring stations recorded rainfall across Riyadh, Makkah, Qassim, the Eastern Province, Asir, Hail, Jazan, Najran, Al-Baha, and Al-Jouf over the past 24 hours.
Other areas in Makkah experiencing heavy rainfall included Al-Hada Park (42.8mm), Madrakah in Al-Jamum (40.4mm), and King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah (24mm). In Asir, Tamniyah in Abha recorded 29.4mm, while Al-Dair in Jazan saw 23.7mm.
Al-Baha city received 11.8mm, while the Eastern Province recorded up to 6mm. In Riyadh, Diriyah saw 3.6mm, and King Khalid International Airport recorded 2.9mm.
Najran’s highest rainfall was 4.2mm at the Habona station, while Al-Shanan in Hail recorded 3mm. Al-Qassim’s Fawara in Buraidah received 2.4mm.
The widespread rainfall highlights varying precipitation levels across the Kingdom, with Makkah receiving the most significant amounts.
