Zardari, Talpur’s judicial remand extended till Nov 26

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court has extended the hearing of case against former president Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur in the money laundering case by 4th October.
The case was heard by Judge Mohammad Bashir on the reference. Former President Rostrum arrived on the occasion.
In a dialogue with Judge Mohammad Bashir, Asif Zardari’s Defence counsel Latif Khosa complained about the court that despite the court’s orders, an air conditioner and a fridge was not given to his client in the jail.
Latif Khosa said, “The court ordered to give fridge in the jail, but they gave bags containing ice.”
Farooq H Naek further told the court that his clients have not received copies of the reference against them. To this, the judge asked Zardari, when he came at the rostrum, whether he has received the copies.

The judge asked all of them to have a meeting in the next room as there were hustle and bustle in the courtroom.
Meanwhile, the court ordered to indict all accused persons on the next hearing after providing them with the copies of the reference.
The money laundering case refers to the embezzlement of Rs4.4 billion. NAB has accused Zardari and Talpur of owning shares of the Zardari Group, a company that received some of the embezzled funds.
