QUETTA: Majlis Wahad-e-Muslimeen (MWM) leader Syed Hashim Moosvi has categorically denied that an agreement had been reached between the Hazara community and the government as their sit-in entered the fifth day refusing to bury the bodies of the 11 coal miners.
Talking to journalists in Quetta today (Thursday), the MWM leader clarified that no agreement had been reached with the government and stated that they will continue to protest till their demands were met.
Hashim Moosvi further asked people protesting in solidarity across the country to continue their demonstrations. On Sunday, armed attackers slit the throats of 11 miners in a residential compound near a mine site in Balochistan’s Mach coalfield area.
Since then, thousands of Hazaras have staged a protest along with coffins containing the miners’ bodies in the western bypass area in Quetta, while members of their community have also held protests in Karachi.
Sit-ins continued across the country with major arteries of cites blocked for protests. A number of roads were blocked across Karachi causing major traffic jams in the metropolis.
