Addressing the pilgrims and the Muslim Ummah, he stressed adopting Taqwa (God-consciousness), saying that success and salvation in this world and the Hereafter lie in fearing Allah. He warned that the Day of Judgment would be terrifying, and people would tremble in fear of Allah, therefore Muslims should abandon disobedience and follow His commands.

The Imam further stated that Allah alone is the ultimate truth and that He has appointed the Day of Resurrection. He clarified that the greatest success is the success of the Hereafter, and no being besides Allah has the power to benefit or harm anyone. Calling shirk (associating partners with Allah) the greatest (injustice), he said mankind has only one Lord and should worship and obey Him alone.

The sermon also stressed the importance of spending in the way of Allah, practicing patience, piety, and righteousness.

The Imam said Allah grants immeasurable rewards to those who remain patient and that He Himself protects His servants. He warned that those who disobey Allah fall into misguidance, and nations that disobeyed the prophets were destroyed.
