In the wake of rising HIV/AIDS cases in the country, federal health department has decided to establish at least one HIV screening and treatment center in every district.
According to detail, Health department has decided to ensure HIV prevention, timely diagnosis and treatment. Moreover, the government has decided to launch effective awareness campaigns regarding HIV and ensure proper screening of every person coming from the borders.
In a high-level meeting chaired by Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, detailed discussion were held on prevalent HIV situation, challenges and future strategies. The representatives of the Central Management Unit and International Partner Organizations participated in the meeting.
Kamal said there is a need to make HIV prevention, timely diagnosis, treatment, and awareness campaigns more effective.
Health minister directed that at least one HIV screening and treatment center should be established in every district of the country so that quality treatment facilities should be ensure for the people in their own areas.
Mustafa Kamal further said that border Health Services, implementation of regulation recommendations should be made more effective, proper screening of every person coming from the borders should be ensured.
Mustafa Kamal said that a regular reporting system should be developed in this regard.
