Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar said the government has reviewed the court order concerning the treatment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and is considering approaching the Supreme Court for a review.

Speaking about the court proceedings related to the PTI founder’s case, Tarar said consultations had been held on other aspects of the order. He said the government would approach the Supreme Court to seek a review of the decision.

Tarar raised questions about whether the Supreme Court’s order regarding treatment would apply to all prisoners. “There are many prisoners in jails who have health problems,” the minister said.

He noted that convicted prisoners requiring medical treatment are provided care at government hospitals.

The law minister questioned whether the directions contained in the court order regarding Imran Khan’s treatment would also be applicable to other prisoners facing health-related issues.

He said the government would examine the matter and take the appropriate legal course regarding the court’s order.
