According to an official notification issued on Friday, the Sindh government has announced a public holiday on October 20 specifically for members of the Hindu community to celebrate the festival of Holi.
This holiday applies to all sectors, both government and non-government institutions in Sindh, ensuring Hindu employees can fully participate in the festivities.
Officials have instructed all administrative departments to implement this directive, and the provincial government also conveyed its well wishes to the community.
Diwali is celebrated with immense enthusiasm and religious fervor by the Hindu community in Pakistan.
Hindus, particularly those in the Sindh province, where the majority of the country’s Hindu population resides, and in cities like Karachi, observe the five-day festival with traditional customs, special prayers, and public festivities.
Officials said that all administrative departments and organizations have been directed to implement the holiday in accordance with the issued notification.
“The provincial government extends warm wishes to the Hindu community on the occasion of Holi,” the statement added.
