ISLAMABAD: After petrol, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced a price hike for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on Sunday.
According to the notification, the LPG price was increased to Rs10 per kilogram. The new price of the LPG per kilogram is fixed at Rs229.
The price of a home LPG cylinder has increased by Rs 120, while the price of a commercial cylinder has climbed by Rs 450, per the notification.
The price of petrol was raised by the federal government by Rs. 10 per litre yesterday for the ensuing 15 days.
In a televised speech, the finance minister cited “increased petroleum prices in the international market and exchange rate variation” as the cause of the increase in the price of petroleum-based items.
As a result, the price of petrol was increased to Rs282 per liter, while high-speed diesel (HSD) and light diesel oil rates remained stable at Rs293 per liter and Rs174.68 per liter, respectively.
Meanwhile, the government increased the price of kerosene oil by Rs5.78 per liter, moving it from Rs180.28 per liter to Rs186.07 per liter.
