ISLAMABAD: Google has unveiled AI Seekho 2026, an ambitious initiative designed to nurture Pakistan’s next generation of artificial intelligence developers through hands-on training, competitive challenges, and substantial financial incentives.
The programme, operating under Google’s developer ecosystem framework, represents a significant commitment to building technical talent in the country. Participants will gain practical experience with cutting-edge AI tools while competing for a combined prize pool of Rs 2.5 million.
Two-Phase Competition Structure
The initiative unfolds across two distinct phases, beginning with a digital submission period followed by in-person hackathons across major cities.
Phase 1: Digital Submissions (April 11 – May 3)
Developers can leverage Google AI Studio with complimentary AI credits to build projects across two categories: ‘App Banaao’, focused on impactful AI-driven applications, and Game Uthao, emphasizing creative AI-powered gaming experiences.
The competition structure offers tiered recognition. The top 750 entries will receive Silver Tier rewards, while the 50 most innovative submissions — those gaining prominence on LinkedIn — will secure Gold Tier recognition and advance to the next stage.
Phase 2: Physical Hackathons
Selected participants will progress to intensive hackathon events held simultaneously in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Teams will utilize Google Antigravity to develop theme-based mobile applications, competing for positions in the final prize distribution.
Innovation Through ‘Vibe Coding’
Programme officials emphasized that AI Seekho 2026 introduces “vibe coding,” a contemporary development methodology designed to accelerate software creation while fostering creative problem-solving among participants.
IT experts say the initiative reflects Google’s broader strategy to strengthen Pakistan’s digital economy by equipping youth with in-demand AI competencies and creating pathways for innovation-driven entrepreneurship.
