Google Pay is set to officially debut in Pakistan by mid-March 2025, initially introducing its contactless payment system.

According to Pro Pakistani dot pk, the rollout will focus exclusively on enabling Google’s contactless payment features, rather than the full range of Google Wallet capabilities.

This initiative will allow users to link their bank-issued debit and credit cards to Google Pay via the Google Wallet app, which will also be activated for the Pakistani market.

To support the launch, Google is partnering with Visa and Mastercard, enabling banks to integrate their cards with this feature.

The Google Wallet app aims to simplify payment management and provide seamless access to digital passes, such as boarding passes. Preparations are reportedly underway, with four to six leading banks collaborating with Visa and Mastercard to address technical requirements for the service.
