KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan maintained their upward trajectory on Friday, with the interbank market recording another sharp increase amid global bullion gains and currency fluctuations.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of gold per tola (24K) rose by Rs5,200, settling at Rs477,136, while the rate for 10 grams of 24K gold climbed by Rs4,458 to Rs409,067. The 22K gold per 10 grams was quoted at Rs374,991, reflecting a similar upward adjustment.

The surge follows Thursday’s rally when local market prices had already jumped by Rs13,700 per tola, underscoring heightened volatility in the precious metals market.

On the international front, gold advanced to 4,547perounce,markingagainof52, while silver prices also strengthened, with per tola silver rising by Rs210 to Rs7,379 and 10 grams silver increasing by Rs180 to Rs6,326. International silver was quoted at 69perounce,up2.10.

Market analysts attribute the sustained rise to global economic uncertainty, a weaker rupee against the dollar, and investor preference for safe-haven assets. Traders expect continued fluctuations in the coming days, with both domestic and international factors shaping the trajectory of bullion prices.
