KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan on Thursday saw an uptick following a rise in the international market. The precious metal was valued at Rs231,000 per tola after a surge of Rs1,500 throughout the day.
According to data provided by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10 grams of gold reached Rs198,045, marking an increase of Rs1,285.
The previous day, gold prices in Pakistan had seen a modest rise of Rs100 per tola.
Internationally, gold prices stood at $2,214 per ounce, reflecting a $14 increase, with a premium of $20, as reported by APGJSA.
In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged at Rs2,580 per tola.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee remained largely stable against the US dollar during trading in the inter-bank market on Thursday.
At close, the local unit settled at 278.03, up by Re0.01 against the greenback, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
