KARACHI: The fluctuating gold market in Pakistan witnessed a big jump of Rs1,100 on Friday, with the price of 24-karat gold reaching Rs216,800 per tola.
The 10-gram gold was sold at Rs185,871 after an increase of Rs943, according to rates shared by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
On Thursday, gold prices in Pakistan had increased by Rs900 per tola.
With a premium of $20, the international rate of gold on Friday was set at $2,067 per ounce, after an increase of $10 in the international market, APGJSA said.
Meanwhile, silver rates remained stable at Rs2,570 per tola.
Moreover, the Pakistani rupee recorded a marginal decline against the US dollar, depreciating 0.03% in the inter-bank market on Friday.
At close, the local unit settled at 279.19, a loss of Re0.08, against the greenback, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
On Thursday, the rupee remained largely stable to settle at 279.11 against the US dollar, according to the SBP.
