Karachi: The price of gold per tola in the country has increased for the fourth consecutive day.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Association (APGJA), the price of gold per tola increased by Rs900 to settle at Rs2,21,200.
The price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs771 to settle at Rs189,643.
The price of gold in the international market increased by 3 dollars to settle at $2086 per ounce.
While the price of per ounce gold in Pakistan is $2106 adding a $20 premium.
On Saturday the per tola price of 24 karat gold had increased by Rs.3,500.
The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold had also increased by Rs.3,001 to Rs.188,872 from Rs.185,871 whereas the price of 10 grams 22 karat gold had gone up to Rs.173,132 from Rs.170,382.
Moreover, the exchange rate of the United States dollar against the Pakistani rupee recorded a slight decrease on Monday.
The US dollar fell by Rs0.14 to fall to Rs279.05 in the interbank trade.
On Friday, the dollar had closed at Rs279.19 after weakening by eight paisas.
Since crossing the Rs300 mark a few months ago, the value of the dollar has slowly decreased in the face of a crackdown by the government against hoarding and smuggling.
