The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sindh has taken action against Bahria Town Karachi and frozen all its commercial properties, as reported by national media.
According to media reports, significant progress has been made in the ongoing investigation against Bahria Town Karachi. NAB has intensified its inquiry and frozen all commercial properties of Bahria Town Karachi. The decision was confirmed by a letter from DG NAB Sindh, Javed Akbar Riaz.
In his letter, the DG NAB Sindh ordered the immediate freezing of 1,000 commercial plots of Bahria Town Karachi. NAB has also claimed to have gathered evidence of Bahria Town’s encroachment on additional land beyond the allocated property. Key figures of Bahria Town have been accused of corruption.
NAB officials stated that investigations have revealed the involvement of Malik Riaz, Ahmed Ali Riaz, Zain Malik, Shahid Qureshi, Faisal Qureshi, Muhammad Owais, Waseem Rifat, and Waqas Rifat in corruption. It was further alleged that Malik Riaz and others misappropriated more than 16,000 acres of land in Malir district through collusion.
